Nashra Mahmood is a 4th year in Gender Studies PhD program at University of California, Los Angeles. They hold a BA in Economics and Gender Studies from Knox College and a MA in Gender Studies from University of California, Los Angeles. Their undergraduate research focused on feminized labor and unionization in North India’s informal economy. Their ongoing project is studying how media manipulation and racialized [dis]information in Indian media post October 2019 has reconstituted national belonging.
