UCLA College Humanities 2020 Virtual Commencement

As the Dean of Humanities mentions below, “we are living in an extraordinary moment in time” filled with many challenges, so we thought it important to spread his message and the accompanying virtual commencement video below in celebration of our Humanities Graduates.

Visit the Humanities website to see photos and videos from last years commencement.

To UCLA’s Humanities Class of 2020,

We are living in an extraordinary moment in time. This time has brought with it many challenges, but I am awed by the perseverance and resilience you have shown during this unprecedented moment.

You have had to forego many of our beloved Bruin traditions this year, such as physically gathering for Commencement. Even with an on-campus ceremony postponed until sometime next year, your Humanities faculty wanted to mark this special occasion and let you know that we are thinking of you on this momentous occasion.

Please take a moment to watch this special video message celebrating your accomplishments and wishing you well as you embark on this next chapter.

Sincerely,

David Schaberg
Dean of Humanities
Professor, Asian Languages & Cultures
