There have been a number of changes and improvements to UCLA’s Common Collaboration and Learning Environment (CCLE), and one of them is certain to excite language instructors across campus.
You may now set (i.e., “force”) the language of your individual course, which converts the standard nomenclature to your desired target language. Best for intermediate through advanced classes, this is a great way to boost the immersion level of the target language for your students with little effort.
To enable it within your course:
- navigate to Course Administration
- click on Edit settings
- click on Appearance
- under Force language, select the language you would like
- click on Save changes at the bottom of the page
Not all languages are currently available but the ones that are include Deutsch, English, Español, Français, Italiano, Português, Svenska, Русский, עברית, 한국어, 日本語, 正體中文, and 简体中文.
If you would like help configuring your class, or if you don’t see your language listed, please email us at ritc@humnet.ucla.edu.
