Opening of the Scholarly Innovation Lab in the Young Research Library

October 3, 2014 @ 3:00 pm - 4:00 pm

On Friday October 3, from 3:00-4:00 pm, there will be a festive opening of the Scholarly Innovation Lab (SIL) in the Charles E. Young Research Library (previously “the Hub”). The SIL is designed to be central in Digital Humanities research and the home of a growing community of practice. At the hub of activities in the SIL is our recently appointed postdoctoral researcher, Stephanie Simms, who will be introduced during the reception. Stephanie is a Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) fellow, funded partly by the library, partly by the Center for Digital Humanities, symbolizing our close collaboration. The enhancement of the space, purchase of high-end computers, and the HumTech portion of the fellowship were made possible by a grant from the Vice Chancellor for Research.
