Free Lynda.com Access for Los Angeles Residents
There are two ways for residents of Los Angeles to get free access to Lynda.com: through the Los Angeles Public Library (LAPL) or the Los Angeles County Library (COLA).
NOTE: Both library organizations have separate portals into Lynda.com, and will require your Library Card Number and PIN (the last 4 digits of the phone number you specified on your library card application) in order to authenticate.

If you don’t have a LAPL library card, there are two ways to obtain one:
- Applying for e-Card Registration
Pro: Fast, easy and convenient way to access Lynda.com – submit online and you’re done
Con: Does not allow you to check out physical library materials, such as books, CDs and DVDs
- Applying for a Full-Access Library Card
Pros: Allows you to access and check-out all library content (books, CDs, and DVDs), as well as providing access to Lynda.com
Con: More involved – you must either pre-register online or download an application form and then visit a library branch in person to show your ID
