The long-term goal of Professor Emeritus Giorgio Buccellati is to update his original archaeological database using current standards, while still maintaining its integrity as an argument about the nature of publishing archaeological data. As part of that effort, HumTech will investigate the relationship between archaeological databases and the Semantic Web, in order to advise him on the final structure of his new database and to contribute to the discussion on the same topic at UCLA’s Cotsen Institute of Archaeology.
