The African Languages Website Migration project preserves the unique and unparalleled resources on Chadic languages (Yobe, Miya, Musey, Hausa) created by the late Professor Russell Schuh, by migrating them into the African Languages Website managed by Dr. Olga Ivanova. These materials include multimedia textbooks, dictionaries, grammar descriptions and exercises, and rich cultural notes. By migrating that content from its heritage Javascript/HTML site into Dr. Ivanova’s WordPress site, it is easier to preserve this material as a living resource for students and researchers worldwide and continue the language documentation work started by Professor Schuh. Hausa, Swahili, and Wolof are among the languages that will be represented on the website.
HumTech supported this project by providing digital project planning expertise and the labor of migrating the materials from one format to the other.
