We are pleased to announce the appointment of Jordan Galczynski as our new Instructional Technology Manager at Humanities Technology!
Jordan began her career at UCLA as a Ph.D. student focusing on Egyptology, completing her dissertation the summer of 2024. She has had the opportunity to participate in a number of archaeological excavations and museum projects from Italy to Egypt, Israel, and Ethiopia.
Prior to this, Jordan received her B.A. from Temple University in Greek and Roman Classics and Anthropology, and her M.A. from the University of Chicago in Middle Eastern Studies. She served as the TA Coordinator for NELC’s popular “Women and Power in the Ancient World” course for a number of years, developing and updating course content and BruinLearn sites, managing the other TA’s and overseeing the day-to-day functioning of the class. Previously, she worked at the Getty Research Institute in Development and Internal Communications and as a Research Assistant in the Scholar’s Program. This past year Jordan served as one of the Research and Instructional Technology Consultants (RITCs) at Humanities Technology prior to this appointment.
She also co-hosts a popular ancient history podcast “Afterlives of Ancient Egypt,” and is a writer for the associated blog Ancient Now. She is excited to remain part of the Bruin community and looks forward to assisting everyone’s instructional support needs as she oversees our instructional support team, including the RITCs, audio-visual equipment, and classroom technology.
Please reach out and welcome Jordan – we’re confident that she will make a significant contribution to our efforts to provide UCLA students with the best educational experience possible.
