Conference: Creating Communities through Language

This spring, the Southwest Association for Language Learning and Technology (SWALLT) and Humanities Technology, are hosting an in-person conference on foreign language instruction focusing on creating communities.
This free conference will be held at the beautiful Clark Memorial Library on Saturday, April 5, 2025. As space is limited, we are asking everyone to please register to attend or present, using this form.
Call for Presentations
We are excited to invite proposals for presentations at our one-day conference, Creating Communities through Language, which will bring together local language educators from high schools, community colleges, and four-year colleges. This conference will feature keynote speakers, networking opportunities, and breakout sessions designed to foster collaboration and innovation in language education.
We seek presentations that explore how to create meaningful communities both inside and outside the classroom. Topics might include, but are not limited to:
- Strategies for fostering classroom connections and belonging.
- Initiatives that build bridges between schools and local communities.
- Collaborative projects across educational levels or institutions.
- Leveraging technology and social platforms to enhance community building.
Presentations can take the form of individual talks or posters. Submissions should include a title, a brief abstract (150-200 words), and your contact information. Please submit your application using this form.
