Elyse Brusher is a Ph.D. Candidate in French & Francophone Studies in the Department of European Languages and Transcultural Studies. Her dissertation explores depictions of physical and mental disability in nineteenth-century novels written by French women. Before beginning her studies at UCLA, Elyse earned a B.A. in French Language and Literature at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. At UCLA, she has taught the entire French language series, including intensive and study abroad classes. She has also coordinated and developed programs through the UCLA Center for the Advancement of Teaching, Graduate Student Resource Center, Graduate Student Association, and Alumni Association.
